Pianta rusticissima, cespugliforme, coltivata come annuale, alta 60-90 cm. Fiori molto numerosi, riuniti in grappoli da due fino a otto, sono di solito chiusi al sole ed aperti e fragranti di notte o all'ombra: hanno calice breve e corolla lungamente tubolosa che si apre in un lembo ampio, ad imbuto, a cinque lobi appena accennati. The flower cup is short, whit tubolar corolla, opening in a wide funnel form lamina with 5 lobes.
